The New Testament Church impacted its culture tremendously.  It made a difference.  The comment was made in Acts 17:6closeActs 17:6 6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also. . . .” (ESV) , “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.”  In reality they turned the world right-side up.  In today’s topsy-turvy world it is time for this to happen again.  The theme “Making a Difference, Impacting our Culture” is certainly significant to our time.  He will be ministering on how to use Social Media and Web development to reach our communities. Sunday after the Conference he will be preaching in Kichener, Ontario.

Note: If you are doing this setup for the first time you will need to do the setup of DropBox on your Church Computer first and share your OpenSong folder that is in “MyDocuments/Opensong”. Allow a few minutes to synchronize Online. Then you can go ahead and Sync all your other computers using the same DropBox login (use the free version…free is good!)

2. Second Download and install DropBox

Go to http://www.dropbox.com and download it for free. Install it on your computer and email pastor Tony to ask for your login. Remember that we are sharing a dropbox just for Opensong so don’t put your personal stuff there . Allow a few minutes to pass so that Dropbox will Synchronize between the Web and your local DropBox folder. It should download the updated version of Opensong documents into your computer.

3. Configure OpenSong

Open OpenSong and go to settings. and choose “General Settings”

Click the tab “Special”. Then Choose a “Custom” location for your files and click “Browse”

After you are going to point OpenSong to your newly downloaded folder inside your Shared DropBox.

Choose the “OpenSong” folder and that’s it! From now on you will have the Shared OpenSong database at work on your machine. You can create your Worship lists and they will be updated automaticaly to the Church’s Laptop.

4. Make sure you don’t mess up things

From now on we share the same Database between us so keep things nice and clean by following these simple rules:

1. Create French Songs inside the “French” folder

2. Create lists with smart names using MONTH, underscore, day, morning or evening (Example: OCT_20e stands for October 24th evening service)

We’re currently working on a major overhaul to the church’s website. The goal is to make the website a bit more interactive, user-friendly, and easy for multiple church members to update.

The site is currently under construction, but in the end we hope it will provide members and visitors with something that is much more than a website. We hope to provide everyone with an online fellowship community so that we can stay connected with each other during the other six days of the week.
