Kahanawake Community Church also known as Kahnawake Pentecostal Church and has ministered to the local community since 1920 in Caughnawaga. Our Church was built in 1961. We are a Mohawk Community Church reaching out the First Nations people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Over many years, Kahnawake Community Church has literally touched thousands of lives with the Gospel. In these past few years the church has realized that we are not just to minister to Kahnawake, but to become…A South Shore Community Church. We have endeavored to reach out to the community through our various ministries to kids, teens and adults. We have a sister Church in Greenfield Park where we have a multicultural congregation named South Shore just like us.

South Shore Community Church is a part of a fellowship of churches called The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and adheres to a common set of beliefs and practices. Through our shared vision with hundreds of churches across Canada, we send missionaries to nations around the world.

We are located 30 minutes away from downtown Montreal. We think living life in community is the only way to live life. Doing life with others helps us to connect in community, focus on others, and establish meaningful relationships.

Jesus had a team He “did life” with. He ate with them, walked with them, and ministered with them. He developed meaningful relationships with them and developed a strategy through which all humankind could be reconciled. Why is it that modern-day Christians have such a hard time doing anything other than going to a church service? The early church connected in very natural, organic ways: “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts” (Acts 2:46closeActs 2:46 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts. . . . (ESV) NIV). They loved to eat a good meal together, laugh together, and pray together in one another’s homes as well as in their large temple gatherings.

Our Local Pastor Tony Silveira has on his heart to establish a strong local group of pastors that will be able to give full native leadership to our Church. He is currently also pastoring our sister Church in Greenfield Park. His vision includes leadership development that will allow us to become a strong pillar in our society and a First Nations Church that can be a reference in our region.
